Structured lessons, live classes, and personal guidance — from basics to advanced performance

At Flamenco Path, we focus on more than just technique — we help you build a deep, practical understanding of the instrument and the music. Drawing on many years of professional experience performing in tablaos and on international stages, our method combines real-world knowledge with a clear, proven teaching approach.
A structured approach to technique, rhythm, and musical understanding — designed to build strong fundamentals and refine existing habits.
Techniques are taught inside falsetas and variations, so you’re always making music — not drilling empty exercises.
Individual feedback helps beginners build correctly and experienced players identify inefficiencies, tensions, and gaps in their playing.
Each lesson fits into a larger progression, creating continuity, depth, and direction over time.
Whether you’re interested in solo playing, accompanying singers and dancers, or exploring modern interpretation and composition, you’ll be supported with clear direction as you go.
The method adapts to your level while maintaining a consistent musical and technical standard.

Hello! I'm Calvin Hazen and I’ve been a professional Flamenco guitarist for over 30 years. I've performed in Madrid’s most important tablaos and on some of the world’s most prestigious stages with many of the great Flamenco artists of this generation, such as Jeronimo Maya, Alfonso Losa, Nino de los Reyes, Carmen " la Talegona," Jesus Carmona, Andres Peña, Rocio Molina and Manuel Liñan. Along the way, I had the great privilege of studying with some of the finest guitarists alive — including El Viejín, and Ramón Jiménez.
I wasn’t born in Spain, nor was I raised in a Flamenco family. On my own journey to becoming a working professional guitarist, I became very aware of the challenges that players outside of Spain face when trying to learn this incredible art form. Those obstacles shaped how I teach: I’ve developed a method that helps students break through those barriers not with endless, mindless repetition, but through efficient, effective practice grounded in the proper mechanics and rhythmic approach.

We work with everyone from absolute beginners who have never picked up a guitar, to advanced players looking to refine technique or expand their repertoire, to professional performers who want to expand their knowledge or polish their trade. Our method is structured to meet you where you are and guide you forward step by step.
Not at all. Flamenco has traditionally been taught by ear and through direct demonstration. We provide all the detailed guidance you need, and our materials use clear notation and/or tab where useful — no formal theory background required.
Yes. You’re never locked in — you can cancel whenever you need, no questions asked.
You're a Classical player? Fantastic! There are some key differences in right-hand mechanics that you'll need to tackle right off the bat, but once that's done you'll be able to utilize much of what you already have under your fingers while progressing and exploring Flamenco. Many students come from other guitar backgrounds. We’ll help you adapt your technique and mindset to Flamenco so you can take full advantage of your previous experience to make a smooth transition and sound authentic.
Our Online Course follows the same proven step-by-step methodology Calvin uses in his one-on-one teaching. You get structured weekly video lessons, plus the option for feedback on your playing and access to group Q&As. It’s the next best thing to studying in person.
